Reviewer testing

Run a repeatable fictional-data review of credit, invoices and buyer access.

Use an authorized development store with configured B2B. Record each expected result separately; an opened checkout or emailed PDF is not confirmed settlement.

Starting context

Before you start

  • Development-store company/location/contact and catalog product with native terms; use Plus when testing the optional checkout note.
  • Installed app, released extensions, a controlled email address and verified test payment configuration.
  • Authority to approve test charges; never accidentally approve a live paid subscription.

Exercise setup and enforcement

Use one location for the first pass, then vary one prerequisite at a time.

  1. Launch Apps → NetGuard and finish company import, buyer terms readiness, credit rules and bank instructions. Record the four-step result.

    Expected result

Saved prerequisites agree with Shopify; skipping setup is not treated as verified readiness.

  2. Set a fictional limit and activate validation. On Plus optionally place the note, then sign in as the assigned B2B contact and place an under-limit order.

    Expected result

The valid order completes and reaches NetGuard. On other plans verify enforcement without demanding the unavailable payment-step note.

  3. Attempt over-limit and held-company purchases with corresponding rules enabled. For multiple branches test a reserved slice and a shared-pool branch.

    Expected result

Supported disallowed checkouts are refused for the right reason; branch allocations do not multiply company credit.

Exercise receipts and buyer access

Use only supported Shopify test methods and fictional receipt confirmations; manual recording never sends bank money.

  1. Approve the valid order, open its invoice, Download PDF and inspect its number, currency, due date, payment instructions and email state.

    Expected result

Approval, PDF readiness and delivery each have their own success result; recovery instructions remain usable.

  2. Record a fictional partial receipt, then the exact remaining balance. Check references, company debt and credit held after each.

    Expected result

The ledger goes Partial then Paid. On non-Plus partial original-order sync is skipped; full settlement follows the enabled sync policy.

  3. Create another eligible unpaid invoice. In the active customer-account editor select Orders → Main → Add block → My Invoices → Save. Open Orders as the assigned buyer; download its PDF, then compare with an unassigned and differently scoped contact.

    Expected result

The saved block exposes only authorized invoices and hides for shoppers with none. PDF access remains protected.

  4. Start full-balance checkout with the verified test method. Interrupt and Resume payment, then complete payment and inspect the final original-invoice balance.

    Expected result

Checkout intent alone does not pay. Confirmed test money updates the ledger; genuine portal partial checkout requires NetGuard Pro/Business, not blanket Shopify Plus.

Check entitlement and privacy

Do not send unwanted messages or incur a live charge to demonstrate reviewer behavior.

  1. Inspect Billing’s effective trial/plan, usage and pending approval. Confirm the test-charge context before approving paid feature access.

    Expected result

NetGuard entitlement controls reminders/charts/branding/approval; Business controls footer removal. Shopify plan boundaries remain separate.

  2. Preview a reminder, send a sample only to your controlled address and export a small filtered CSV. Redact evidence before sharing findings.

    Expected result

Delivery/sample restrictions and export scope are visible; no credentials or unrelated buyer information are disclosed.

Keep in mind. Do not use real card data. Test cancellations, refunds and privacy requests only against authorized fictional records. This procedure does not certify every Shopify plan or promise an SLA.

Check before retrying

If the result differs

The review’s entitlement differs
Record effective trial/plan and test-charge context. Pending approval is not paid entitlement, and an app tier does not grant Shopify Plus features.
Payment is uncertain
Inspect Shopify’s test outcome and NetGuard ledger before retrying; report pending confirmation separately from checkout failure.
My Invoices cannot be found
Confirm the block is added and saved in the active customer-account editor, then use current accounts → Orders with assigned contact and accessible invoices. Do not publish a retired full-page target.
