Payment reminders

Choose a cadence, preview messages and investigate delivery restrictions.

Use Reminders to configure the schedule. Saving prepares background processing; it does not prove an email has immediately reached or been read by a buyer.

Starting context

Before you start

  • NetGuard Pro or Business for automatic and one-click reminders.
  • Correct recipient contacts, due dates and verified buyer-facing business/payment details.
  • A controlled email address for samples; avoid unsolicited production test reminders.

Save a schedule

Settings points to Reminders; it is not a second independent schedule editor.

  1. Open Reminders → Automatic reminders and inspect the enabled state. Review the business contact/payment instructions in Settings first.

    Expected result

The state reflects the real saved configuration and plan; eligible unpaid invoices are considered by background processing.

  2. In Reminder schedule, choose Gentle, Standard or Persistent and read the actual timing. For another cadence, open Customize schedule and edit Reminder timing.

    Expected result

The schedule changes on screen. Replacing a custom schedule needs review; the modal alone does not save or send anything.

  3. Use Save schedule and recheck the saved enabled state. When disabling Automatic reminders, read and confirm its warning.

    Expected result

Future processing uses the saved cadence. Turning reminders off does not cancel invoices or erase the buyers’ debt.

Preview and follow delivery

NetGuard uses Resend; receiving providers also affect delivery. Queued, sent and read are not interchangeable.

  1. In What your buyers see, preview a reminder and send a sample to the displayed business contact address you control.

    Expected result

You can inspect wording and payment details. Sample limits and missing/unsafe contact addresses are surfaced before sending.

  2. For one eligible unpaid invoice, use Send reminder on its detail screen and read the recipient confirmation before sending.

    Expected result

A manual reminder is requested for that invoice independently of the automatic cadence; review the delivery feedback.

  3. Inspect Buyers we can’t reach and invoice delivery errors. Correct invalid addresses and investigate bounces, complaints or opt-outs before retrying.

    Expected result

Suppressions prevent unwanted repeated sends. Resume only through an explicit authorized app action when appropriate, never to bypass a buyer opt-out.

Keep in mind. Scheduled sends are asynchronous. No exact delivery time is promised. You remain responsible for lawful communication purpose, content and frequency.

Check before retrying

If the result differs

My custom cadence did not persist
After the Customize schedule modal, press Save schedule on Reminders. Reopen the page and check what was saved.
The buyer did not receive it
Check recipient, due date, eligibility, suppressions and delivery state. Provider acceptance does not prove inbox placement or reading.
The action is locked
Check the effective NetGuard plan or expired trial in Billing. Shopify Plus and NetGuard Pro are separate subscriptions.
