Settings → Billing shows the effective NetGuard entitlement. NetGuard Pro/Business subscriptions are separate from your Shopify Basic/Grow/Advanced/Plus store plan.
Starting context
Before you start
- Store-owner or appropriate staff authority to approve app charges.
- A review of usage and the NetGuard capabilities your workflow needs.
Choose by actual entitlement
The in-app comparison and Shopify approval screen govern charges. Listed monthly amounts are USD.
Open Settings → Billing. Inspect effective plan, trial, usage and any pending plan change before selecting a tier.
Expected resultYou can distinguish Free, trial entitlement and an approved subscription; pending approval is not an active paid plan.
Compare Free against usage: 3 companies and 10 invoices per calendar month, manual approval, credit controls, dashboard, CSV export and manual partial receipts.
Expected resultLimits restrict new records while existing tracked data remains. Free supports full-balance buyer payments, not buyer partial checkout.
Review Pro ($29 USD/month) for unlimited companies/invoices, automatic/bulk approval, reminders, charts, custom branding and buyer partial payments; compare Business ($79 USD/month) for Pro plus footer removal.
Expected resultBusiness controls removal of Powered by NetGuard. Neither app tier grants Shopify Plus-only editor or native payment capabilities.
Approve, change or stop
Eligible first installations receive a 30-day Pro trial. A trial does not authorize a paid charge without required Shopify approval.
Choose the paid tier and review Shopify’s charge approval. Approve only the displayed plan and amount, then return to Billing.
Expected resultThe app confirms the approved subscription. Cancelling approval does not activate the requested paid tier.
For downgrade or cancellation, read the shown timing and confirm. Recheck remaining paid entitlement and feature availability afterward.
Expected resultDisclosed billing timing applies. Losing entitlement can lock paid actions without erasing tracked invoices/companies; unapproved expired trials move to Free.
Before uninstalling, export required records and download PDFs. Uninstall through Shopify admin; send disputed-charge requests with store domain and Shopify invoice reference.
Expected resultYou retain your required business records. Refunds are reviewed through applicable Shopify mechanisms and law; no automatic refund is promised.
Keep in mind. Development-store test charges must be identified before approval. Do not accidentally approve a live paid subscription for a reviewer test.
Check before retrying
If the result differs
- A paid feature is still locked
- Inspect effective plan and pending changes after approval. Record the approval outcome for support rather than approving multiple charges.
- Company/invoice cap reached
- Review current Free usage and skipped imports. A higher Shopify store plan does not raise NetGuard Free limits; NetGuard entitlement controls them.
Contact NetGuard support with the store domain, record identifier and the result you expected. Redact unrelated personal information.
